The EuroMillions jackpot has reached an unprecedented €243 million (232 million Swiss francs), setting a new record in the lottery’s 21-year history.
In the most recent draw on March 25th, the jackpot was €217 million, but no one in Europe matched all five numbers and the two stars needed to win. As a result, the prize for the next draw on Friday, March 28th, is expected to grow even larger. Experts predict that over 50 million tickets will be sold for the upcoming draw.
If no one wins the jackpot on March 28th, the prize could rise to a staggering €250 million (238 million Swiss francs). The EuroMillions lottery is played every Tuesday and Friday evening and involves 12 participating countries: the UK, France, Monaco, Andorra, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
The first EuroMillions draw took place in 2004. The largest EuroMillions win to date occurred in 2023 when a ticket sold in Austria won €240 million. The second-largest win was €230 million in the UK in 2022, and the third came in 2021 when a ticket in French Polynesia won €220 million.
