Letterkenny Player Wins €500,000 in EuroMillions Plus, Second Big Win This Year

by Nancy

Letterkenny is celebrating another major win after a player claimed the €500,000 top prize in yesterday’s EuroMillions Plus draw. The ticket was purchased at Callaghan’s XL on Main Street, Letterkenny, on the day of the draw.

The winning numbers for the EuroMillions Plus draw were 5, 16, 21, 36, and 46.

This marks Letterkenny’s second high-value win this year. In March, a €1,000,000 Daily Million top prize was also claimed in the town, purchased at Kernan’s Service Station in Tullygay.

Darragh O’Dwyer, a spokesperson for the National Lottery, commented: “What a night for Letterkenny! A local player has won the life-changing €500,000 EuroMillions Plus top prize. This is the 13th EuroMillions Plus win in 2025, and over 49,000 players in Ireland have won prizes in both EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws.”

The National Lottery also noted that nearly 30 cent of every €1 spent on its games supports Good Causes in Ireland. These funds go toward initiatives in sports, youth programs, health, education, the arts, and more. Since its inception 37 years ago, the National Lottery has raised more than €6.5 billion for Good Causes. In 2023 alone, €227.9 million was raised for local communities across Ireland.
