A Powerball ticket sold in Edinburg, Texas, won a $2 million prize but fell short of the $418 million jackpot, lottery officials announced. The ticket matched five of the winning numbers and the Power Play, but not the Powerball, in the drawing held on Wednesday, March 19.
The winning ticket was purchased at a market in Edinburg, located about 230 miles south of San Antonio. Another lucky Texas player won a $100,000 prize. A ticket sold in Colorado also claimed a $2 million prize.
The Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $444 million, with a cash value of approximately $207.2 million, for the next drawing on Saturday, March 22.
The winning numbers from the March 19 drawing were 8, 11, 21, 49, and 59, with a Powerball of 15. The Power Play multiplier was 2x. In total, more than 525,000 Powerball tickets across the United States won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000.
The Powerball jackpot was last won on January 18, when a ticket in Oregon claimed the $329 million grand prize.
